trailhq.com loads advertising tags from LinkedIn, Reddit and X through Google Tag Manager to measure our ads. Under some US state privacy laws these tags count as “sharing” personal information for advertising. In the United States they load unless you opt out, and you can opt out here.
Outside the United States they never load unless you accept advertising cookies in our cookie banner, and the banner is where you change that choice. Opting out here also works anywhere: it overrides a “yes” in the banner on this browser.
Opting out stops those advertising tags from loading on this browser and deletes the advertising click IDs (li_fat_id, rdt_cid, twclid) we stored when you arrived from an ad. The choice is kept in a cookie for two years, so it applies to this browser only; clearing cookies resets it.
We also honor Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends it, advertising tags stay off without you doing anything here.
Analytics that is not advertising (Google Analytics, PostHog, HubSpot) is not affected by this setting. Outside the United States it is covered by the cookie banner instead. Our privacy policy lists every tracker the site uses and how to contact us about your data.
